I was recently asked to write a piece for Go Solo (https://go solo.subkit.com) about my experiences of being an entrepreneur, which really made me think differently about what I have done and what I do. I reflected on the adventures, mistakes, successes, risks and sacrifices I’ve made to get this far.
It has made me appreciate all of these experiences, the good, the bad and the downright ugly parts of it, and it has helped me to appreciate that it is by no means done. I am nowhere near my end goal, my outcome is not tangible yet. I can see it, I can feel it and I know it’s coming, I just have to remain focused on it in order to achieve it, all while keeping alert for distractions and hurdles that will continue to be there along the way.
This is true for all of us, no matter what we do, whether it is personal or professional. We have to have a clear vision of what we want, have an idea of timescale and plan towards that, knowing that things and people will get in the way and that the path will not be straight.
I’m sure that you can all relate to this in your own ways, and perhaps taking that moment to reflect on your own life and becoming aware of what else you can learn from all those experiences to help guide you and keep you on track towards achieving your vision and ultimate outcome.
